Dates Confirmed for Wagakki Band's 8th Anniversary Japan Tour: ∞ -Infinity-
Wagakki Band's passion to play for its fans, who have been patiently waiting because of the pandemic since last year, remains undiminished because of their support. With the desire to go to where their fans are, and following all necessary guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Wagakki Band were the first Japanese artists during these circumstances to hold arena-scale concerts with fans present, over two days at the Yokohama Arena. The band showed the music industry the way and entertained fans. Including those performances, none of Wagakki Band's concerts have seen a single case of COVID-19, thanks to the efforts of fans and everyone whose helped to run the events.
To do more than just provide entertainment, the band also established a fund-raising project to support Japanese traditional arts and culture during the hardships they face as a result of the pandemic. So far the project has successfully supported Tokyo Wagakki, a major maker of shamisen lutes that was at risk of closing down, and Fukyama Koto Workshop in the city of Fukuyama, Hiroshima Prefecture.
With these successes and experiences, Summer 2021 will see the start of a nationwide tour to commemorate the eighth anniversary of their debut.
Wagakki Band will hold its 8th Anniversary Japan Tour: ∞ - Infinity –
Last year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the planned national tour could not go ahead, but Wagakki Band are eager to deliver their music to fans in the country.
That's why this tour will be the biggest in the band's history—30 performances at 28 cities throughout Japan.
Measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 will be more thorough than ever, following guidelines set by the national government as well as local regulations in the areas where the concerts are planned to be held.
That way, Wagakki Band can entertain everyone face to face.
With this announcement of a national tour coming in as several areas are under a state of emergency, there was honestly some concern among the artists about whether to hold it. Please be aware that they made the decision to make the announcement now out of consideration for fans' schedules and the need to inform everyone with as much notice as possible.
For the tour dates, we will be taking the future pandemic situation into account and getting the latest information.
We will be in close contact with relevant agencies, and we promise to manage this tour as best we can to ensure everyone that comes can do so in safety and security.
